from 1 veterans, but sometimes we overlook veteran spouses and their families,” said Supranovich. “This year was different.”

American Legion Post 2 Commander Chris Couture led the attendees in the Pledge of Allegiance. The National Anthem was sung by “AmaSing” a group of student performers from the Voice Performing Arts Studio. Dave Peplau from the Korean War Veterans Association performed an invocation, which was followed by the POW/MIA “Missing Man” table ceremony.

Then, Supranovich said, certificates were presented to the spouses of Vietnam veterans by Mayor Jeff Caggiano and the Vietnam War Commemoration Partner from Bristol Public Library.

“The Mayor of Bristol presented the Vietnam veteran spouses a proclamation, making May 13 Vietnam Veteran Spouses and

Family Appreciation Day in Bristol,” said Supranovich.

Supranovich also expressed appreciation to Rich Kilby, Sen. Henri Martin, Rep. Joe Hoxha, Rep. Mary Fortier and Scott Rosado for thanking the Vietnam veteran spouses who attended the event on behalf of the state and local community.

Following the presentations, a medley was then sung by the AmaSing student performers. Refreshments were provided by the Friends of the Library.
